Unlikely to be insolvent but SEC should be going after Tether instead of other crypto

Why buy bonds or have a savings account when this market exists?

@ConsumersFirst just sent a Consumer Warning to every Governor in the nation, warning them that unregulated cryptocurrency company @Tether_to could be the next FTX, on the brink of disaster. Source: [link removed]

Audit or attestation? Tether publishes attestations by BDO Italia. "At BDO, 86 per cent of audits inspected by the PACOB were found to be deficient, meaning that the firm had failed to collect enough evidence to support at least part of its audit conclusion" - "BDO sinks to bottom of US audit quality league table". Now this is for BDO US, now imagine what's going on at BDO Italia! Pure mafia business!

Isn't this pretty much a fact at this point? Something that everybody knows but nobody talks about as it would cause the demise of entire crypto industry. Tether printed and loaned USDT to Celsius against Bitcoin collateral. And this might be a common practice for them.
PlayableCharacter759d
Tether releases its qtr 3rd party audit on Sept 30th. If tether is allowing BTC as collateral to mint USDT that could be a big problem if BTC falls hard...
Degen2005762d
All Bitcoin ETFs combined have $52B total assets under management. Tether has printed about the exact same amount of $52B since 2022 bottom. Tether is the most obvious ponzi scheme to have ever existed.

VanEck: We are also concerned about the general challenges facing USDT holders who want to off-ramp their tokens to fiat. USDT can be redeemed for dollars by only a few entities, and many holders are supposed have to swap for USDC to offramp their USDT. Additionally, moving USDT from Tron to Ethereum is nearly impossible, adding to our concern of collusion between Sun and Tether to block exits for Tron’s USDT holders.

“Tether’s Connections to China” 📝🇨🇳 Despite their claims of NOT holding any Chinese commercial paper, documents released by the NY Attorney General revealed that Tether, in fact, held billions of dollars in short-term loans to Chinese companies. [link removed]

Tether is banned in New York and Europe. Soon it will also be banned in Hong Kong. Tether has never been audited. All their claims of asset ownership, profits, etc... Are NOT verified and could be made up entirely!

Terrorist financing, fraud investigations, and a close relationship with China. Can you really trust Tether? [link removed]
Degen2005800d
YES it is. A massive red flag. Tether is breaking the record for highest asset under management per employee. Previous record was held by Bernie Madoff who ran the biggest ponzi scheme in the world.
turnerinterrupt800d
Is it not the most profitable company in the world by head count?
Degen2005802d
Ponzi scheme ponzi scheme, what you gonna do? What you gonna do, when they come for you
shanstate833d
They hold short term bonds and rates are currently high, if rates drop bond prices go up so theyll have an even stronger balance sheet. They hold short term bills so convexity isn't a big problem. I doubt rates go even higher than they are now.
