This market will resolve to "Yes" if Gianni Infantino ceases to be the president of FIFA for any length of time between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An announcement of Infantino's resignation or firing before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation or firing goes into effect. Announcements of intention to resign will qualify, regardless of if or when the resignation goes into effect. Suspensions, administrative leave, or other temporary measures will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA or Gianni Infantino, however a wide consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

Rui Pinto. Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.

uefa pursuing legal action. here we go!

Qatar is crying hard at China, I suspect there is some sheik caring a lot to own part of FIFA to challenge AFC verdict to drop support as well. I see not only Gianni dropping out, I see FIFA dismantling or at least completely rebranded over it. Can we have a market for that?
Powershard57d
New Zealand next in the line who dropped support for the putler's friend

UEFA just said they are still boycotting the worldcup as they have no confidence in Gianni infantino's presidency-breaking
theblokeigz66d
as predicted, UEFA have stated that their 'conditions have not been met' to withdraw their boycott of the world cup. UEFA will continue to mount pressure onto FIFA until infantino is removed from his position in the very near future. he cannot hide, and nor can you from the money youre about to lose lmao
Pulpo9466d
I know you pumping yes to buy more no, we are in the same team bro <3
theblokeigz66d
if you think that this is the end of this scandal and that everyone will accept the outcome then youre a moron. there was no crisis meeting, it was a bribery meeting intended for the purpose of buying the FIFA leadership's support for infantino. why do you think they went from condemning him and denying any involvement in his plan one day, to endorsing the retention of his position the next? once UEFA threatens a break-away from FIFA unless the exit of infantino is confirmed, other FAs will follow suit. then we'll see which outcome is at 10c and which isnt😁

infantinos sham of an apology will not save him. FIFA's attempt to salvage whats left of this pr disaster will not work; its simply too late for that. the tyrant will inevitably fall

Luis Figo : Today I join others from across our game and call for Gianni Infantino to resign as FIFA President. Infantino has debased the office that he promised to elevate. He has lied, deceived and tried to feather his own nest at the expense of the game he is supposed to serve. He has lost the support of his senior staff, his closest advisers, the vast majority of people who devote their lives to this sport and even, it would seem, the FIFA Peace Prize winner. It is too late to save his dignity but it is not too late to save football. He should go. Now.
theblokeigz67d
infantinos demise is imminent.
theblokeigz67d
similar to how they outright bribed delegates from the member associations to endorse the qatari bid to host the 2022 world cup (amongst other previous world cups). its how the corrupt forces of FIFA have always operated

I did buy?
theblokeigz69d
are you a moron? he proposed a plan to quite literally sell the game of football to commercial investors, gave the FAs an ultimatum to accept the plan forcefully, and didn't even apologise after his plans were shut down. if that isnt blatant corruption and tyranny right before our eyes then i dont know what is. also i don't remember saying that i get to vote, so perhaps you should work on your comprehension skills instead of burning all of your money on an outcome that wont even materialise
Cbs71069d

these are two completely different scenarios. it's no secret that blatter was notoriously corrupt but he carried out that corruption in secret through bribery and enabling racketeering behind the scenes, compared to infantino who flaunted it in our faces and effectively erased any existing support he had. theres no need for an investigation to see that infantinos time at FIFA has dried up now
theblokeigz69d
in his career there has never been an event so damning to him and to the legitimacy of FIFA. the little repute he had within the hierarchy of FIFA is no more. infantino is going and it will be soon
Cbs71070d
It took 3 years from investigation to Blatter’s resignation, I’m surprised by how many ppl think that Infantino would resign in merely 4 months, especially right after world cup and this close to an election.
clazzy170d
when has he ever resigned in his career when under pressure?
naggingbets70d
the likelihood of a vote actually happening is minuscule but the threat is enough, Infantino would resign to avoid the humilliation
naggingbets70d
FIFA's own governance rules say otherwise. Congress uses secret ballot only for elections; ordinary votes, which includes a dismissal motion, are explicitly not secret, and any member associations can force a roll call that puts individual votes on record. On the membership point, yes, a couple of confederation members (like Zanzibar in CAF) hold associate status rather than full FIFA membership, so a couple of my per-confederation numbers were off by 1-2 votes. That doesn't change the numbers in a material way and if anything you are right in my exaggeration I am being too conservative
theblokeigz70d
what you're saying makes no sense. if you had a tyrannical president who was dragging your organisation into further disrepute on the world stage, and going behind the backs of even his senior officials to impose a plan that is endangering the existence of FIFA, would you rather get him out sooner or later?? infantino will go soon, and it'll be a spectacle to watch
anoinwhowin70d
why would they trigger a no confidence vote while they probably wont have enough to kick him out while they can just wait march election where the bald man has absolutely no chance to get reelected
anoinwhowin70d
fifa votes arent public and your number are exaggerated, many members sit in confederation without being fifa member
naggingbets70d
didn´t even the the AFC statement, he´s a deadman walking now

Need 106 votos, UEFA, AFC and CONCACAF already 143.
naggingbets70d
Infantino's inner circle already turned on him. Senior adviser Cordeiro quit in protest, and FIFA's own COO called the plan "unilateral" saying the federation had been deceived. UEFA who holds 55 votes and declared a no confidence statement can force a Congress vote with just 43 of 211 federations on board not to mention CONCACAF has already publicly taken their side. On paper his CAF, AFC, and CONMEBOL bloc still beats UEFA and CONCACAF combined, since that's 111 votes against 96 but that support is by no means guaranteed and FIFA votes are public rather than a secret ballot meaning everyone will deem you a rat when they see you defend the rat. It only takes about 10 of those 111 votes actively flipping to tip the majority against him. That's not a huge ask when you look at who's already unhappy. Egypt filed an official FIFA complaint after their round-of-16 exit to Argentina, their coach publicly alleged the referee was pressured, and FIFA's own refereeing chief had to go on record denying that Infantino influences officiating. An old CAF seat with a fresh, public grievance against the federation is exactly the kind of vote that could break first, and once one CAF nation votes against him on record, it gets a lot easier for others to follow. While it is not clear the vote would pass there is certainly a good chance it may so if infantino wants to save face the optimal move would be to resign the way Blatter did in 2015.

FIFA's COO Kevin Lamour tells @AP he feels "deceived" by Gianni Infantino. "What has been announced in recent days and what has been happening behind the scenes in recent months defies belief and imagination. "To put it very clearly and directly: the project that has sparked so much controversy and debate is not a Fifa project. It is even less a project of Fifa’s administration. It is the project of one person.
naggingbets70d
his inner circle is already throwing him under the bus
