# Support bot that answers from your Notion help center

Point one bot at your Notion help center. It answers customer questions in your Slack and Telegram channels with a link to the page, remembers what your team teaches it, and passes anything the docs don't cover to a person instead of guessing.

> Illustration with sample data. The business, numbers and results are made up to show the flow; nothing here is a real account or customer result.

Approvals: X posts always ask first, and so do trading orders unless you set a Binance or Polymarket bot to trade on its own within its limits. Other actions ask only when Approvals are on in Settings; on Never ask, the krypton.bot default, they run without asking.

## Apps used

- [Notion](https://krypton.bot/mcp-catalog/notion/): The knowledge base: the bot searches your help center pages and reads them in full before it answers. It only reads.
- [Slack](https://krypton.bot/mcp-catalog/slack/): Posts questions the docs don't answer to your team's #support-team channel. With Approvals on in Settings, each post waits for you to allow it.
- Krypton memory (built in): Keeps the bot's rules and the answers your team gives it, so the next customer gets them without a new escalation.
- Chat channels (Slack, Telegram) (built in): Where customers talk to the bot: mention it in a Slack channel or a Telegram group and it replies in the thread.

## How to set it up in Krypton

1. **Connect Notion.** In Krypton, open Integrations, pick Notion and sign in. Share only the pages the bot should know, such as your Help Center, with the connection.
2. **Connect your chat channels.** In Settings, connect Slack (install it in your workspace) and Telegram (link your bot), then add the bot to the channels and groups where customers ask questions.
3. **Connect Slack for escalations.** Pick Slack in Integrations so the bot can post to your team's #support-team channel. With Approvals on in Settings, each post waits for you to allow it; on Never ask it posts straight away.
4. **Hire the bot.** Open Bot Marketplace and hire the Support agent, or ask Chief in chat to create a support bot. Give it the Notion and Slack apps and turn on memory.
5. **Send the instructions.** Paste the prompt below and change the channel names and the pages it may use. The bot reads the help center first and tells you what it found.
6. **Teach it as you go.** When a person answers an escalated question, tell the bot. It saves the answer to memory, and you can also add it to the Notion page so everyone has it.

Prompt to copy:

```text
Be Northwind Coffee's support bot in our Slack community #help channel and our Telegram group. Answer only from the Help Center in Notion and cite the page. If the docs don't cover a question, don't guess: post it to #support-team for a person and tell the customer someone will follow up.
```

## What the bot does

- Reads your Notion help center and saves its rules (answer from the docs, cite the page, escalate unknowns) to memory.
- Replies when a customer mentions it in a Slack channel or a Telegram group.
- Checks memory, searches Notion, reads the best pages and answers in a few sentences with a link to the page.
- Says when the docs don't cover a question instead of making up an answer.
- Posts the unanswered question (with Approvals on, after you allow it) to #support-team and tells the customer a person will follow up.
- Saves the answer your team gives, so the next customer who asks gets it straight away.

## Questions

### Will the bot make up answers?

It is told to answer only from your Notion pages and its memory, and to cite the page. When nothing matches, it says so and hands the question to a person.

### Can it change my Notion pages?

Not in this setup. It only searches and reads the pages you shared with the connection. If you ask it to add or change a page, it shows you the draft or the change in chat and writes to Notion only after you say yes. With Approvals on in Settings, the write also waits for you to allow it.

### Does it work in Discord?

Bots chat in the channels your Krypton workspace has turned on, such as Slack, Telegram and WhatsApp. Discord is not one of the chat channels today, so this example uses a Slack community and a Telegram group.

### Is the video a real support desk?

No. It is an illustration with sample data: Northwind Coffee, its help center and the customer questions are made up to show the flow.
