# Gmail inbox assistant: daily triage, labels and drafted replies

One bot reads the last day of mail in Gmail and Mailbux, sorts it into needs a reply, read later and can be archived, files it when you say so, and drafts the replies. It sends a reply only after you approve it in chat, or on the approval card when Approvals are on in Settings.

> Illustration with sample data. The business, numbers and results are made up to show the flow; nothing here is a real account or customer result.

Approvals: X posts always ask first, and so do trading orders unless you set a Binance or Polymarket bot to trade on its own within its limits. Other actions ask only when Approvals are on in Settings; on Never ask, the krypton.bot default, they run without asking.

## Apps used

- [Gmail](https://krypton.bot/mcp-catalog/gmail/): Searches and reads the inbox, adds labels, archives the noise, saves threaded reply drafts and sends the ones you approve.
- [Mailbux](https://krypton.bot/mcp-catalog/mailbux/): Does the same for your Mailbux mailbox, such as a shared billing@ address: search, read, label and draft in the thread.
- Routines (built in): Runs the triage every weekday at 8:00 without you asking, and posts it in chat.

## How to set it up in Krypton

1. **Connect Gmail.** In Krypton, open Integrations, pick Gmail and enter your Gmail address and a Google app password (myaccount.google.com/apppasswords). It is stored encrypted and only your workspace uses it.
2. **Connect Mailbux.** Pick Mailbux in Integrations and enter the mailbox address and its Mailbux app password. Skip this step if all your mail is in Gmail.
3. **Hire the bot.** Open Bot Marketplace and hire the Inbox assistant, or ask Chief in chat to create one. Give it the Gmail and Mailbux apps.
4. **Send the brief.** Paste the prompt below and change the time, the mailboxes and the labels you use. The bot shows you the groups before it files anything.
5. **Approve what goes out.** Replies are saved as drafts. Turn on Approvals in Settings and each send shows an approval card with the recipient and the text; tap Allow once, deny it, or ask for changes in chat first.
6. **Make it a routine.** Ask the bot to run this every weekday at 8:00. It posts the triage in chat each morning and waits for you before it files or sends.

Prompt to copy:

```text
Triage my inbox every morning at 8:00. Check Gmail and our Mailbux billing@ mailbox from the last day: sort into needs a reply, read later and can be archived, with one line each. Draft the replies for me. Never send anything until I approve it.
```

## What the bot does

- Searches the last day of mail in Gmail and in your Mailbux mailbox, and reads anything the subject does not make clear.
- Sorts every message into needs a reply, read later and can be archived, with sender, subject and one line each.
- After your OK, adds a Read later label, archives newsletters and notifications, and never deletes anything.
- Drafts short replies in each thread's language and saves them in Drafts, threaded with the original.
- Sends only the replies you approve, with an approval card for each send when Approvals are on, and leaves the rest in Drafts.

## Questions

### Can the bot send email without asking me?

No. Replies are saved as drafts. With Approvals on in Settings, sending from Gmail or Mailbux shows an approval card with the recipient and the text, and nothing goes out until you tap Allow once.

### Does it need my Google password?

No. Gmail connects with your address and a Google app password, which you can revoke in your Google account at any time. Mailbux uses a Mailbux app password the same way.

### Will it delete my mail?

No. The triage only labels and archives, and archived mail stays in All Mail. It moves nothing until you approve the groups.

### Is the video a real inbox?

No. It is an illustration with sample data: Fabrikam Studio, its clients and every message are fictional.
